Michelle Kinney

Director/Senior Physiotherapist

Michelle qualified from Withington School of Physiotherapy 34 years ago. She was lucky enough to be mentored by Mr Dennis Wright who was a highly respected District Physiotherapist at Rochdale. It was under his charge that she learnt the crucial ‘hands-on’ approach to physiotherapy. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience in the sporting arena including work with Under 16s English Ladies Golfers.

In 1994, Michelle had the opportunity to work in Wrightington Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Hospital, a world renowned Centre of Excellence. Here she gained further valuable experience in all aspects of musculo-skeletal injury, evidence based treatments and post operative rehabilitation.

Working alongside highly experienced physiotherapists in a private clinic has been instrumental to her continued success, and Michelle has now been a director of this thriving clinic for over 20 years.

Extensive post graduate training has been instrumental in Michelle’s passion for learning and professional empowerment. Most notably, Diplomas in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy, alongside Advanced Myofascial Release. Diplomas in both Western Medicine Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine have strengthened her holistic approach, allowing evidenced based therapy for extensive medical presentations.

In the last few years Michelle’s passion for Acupuncture has driven her to undertake a teaching certificate, become an advanced member of the AACP. It his her mission to support the outstanding work of the AACP for its members and continue to drive the AACP in a postive direction.
