A recent review of NICE guidance for Low Back Pain suggests that exercise therapy is one of the leading considerations when treating Low Back Pain patients. We are thrilled therefore to announce we are re-introducing Modified PILATES classes to Leyland Physiotherapy.
Modified Pilates is a mind body conditioning exercise regime that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine. This will help improve overall core stability and posture. The classes are ideal for anyone suffering from back pain, poor posture, sports injuries, arthritis and stress related injuries. Whether you are completely injury free or recovering from injury or surgery, our modified Pilates classes will be tailored to your requirements to ensure they are safe and effective.
Classes will run once a week in blocks of 6 classes starting Tuesday 7th Feb 2017 10-11am. Payment for each block of classes is at the first class in the block. Each block of 6 weeks is £48.
Leyland Physiotherapy physios will follow the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institutes Modified Pilates (APPI) approach. It was developed by Physiotherapists for use in a clinical environment. The classes are ideal for those suffering from low back pain, poor posture or sports injury. We focus on controlled movement and breathing patterns to help improve core stability.
Our classes have a maximum of 10 people to ensure you receive individual feedback and can be confident that you are doing the exercises correctly.
Prior to joining a class, it is compulsory for all clients to attend a one-to-one session with a Pilates Instructor costing £20. The purpose of this is to discuss your individual medical history and any previous injuries fully and in confidence so that the Instructor can design the classes to your needs.
It is also an opportunity for you to get more information about the APPI method of Pilates and to learn the five key elements that are at the heart of all our Pilates teaching. It is a requirement of our insurance that this process is undertaken plus it will ensure that when you do join a class, you will already be aware of some of the concepts and won’t be completely lost!
To book your one-to-one class preparation, or for more information, please phone Caitlin on 01772 435235 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note refunds will not be given if you fail to attend a class due to premises hire fees. Please speak to us at the time of booking if you know you will not be able to attend one class. It may be better to delay until the next course is scheduled.
